In the 2000s, TV channels were far more cross-media — especially at a time when the internet wasn’t yet dominated by relentless monetization. Lots of initiatives were created to immerse audiences in a culture, offer extra entertainment, or even spark conversations that would otherwise be hard for “misfit” kids growing up in small-town Brazil.

Cartoon Network was one of them. Besides selling TV ads, the channel invested heavily in online games to bring visitors to its website. Believe it or not, those little Flash games — made for kids — were incredibly well crafted and fun. And, without meaning to, they became part of the childhood of a whole generation of Brazilian kids.

With that in mind, I picked some of the most nostalgic games we loved as kids — the ones we played for hours, with no adult supervision.
