That’s how I feel rigging my first character in Toon Boom Harmony. But let’s take it one step at a time.

In the last entry I summarized the project and how I was struggling to make progress on my thesis, mostly because of my learning curve with Toon Boom. But last week I felt things were finally moving. So much so that I got my character to say his first words, just like Frankenstein’s monster.

And honestly, I found the software really hard. Not that Adobe’s are much better (I’m looking at you, After Effects), but when you’re used to one logic, another company’s program ends up feeling very confusing — making you question, more than once, the life choices that led you here.

~Jokes aside~, here is Márcio’s first word:

Se flopar, nunca postei – Márcio

It was a more concise “Hello World”, but it didn’t lose its value.

In theory I only have this week to finish the rigs and backgrounds — so, will Likus sleep this week? Place your bets.

More updates soon.
